Lady From Louisiana [Blu-ray]

I purchased this title primarily for Ona Munson. She had an interesting career, probably most famous for portraying "Belle Watling" in Gone with the Wind." Which turned out to be a blessing and a curse for her, unfortunately. This film allows her to carry a lead, and frankly she does a fine job here. John Wayne does his usual John Wayne, which is fine if you like it. The film itself is what was called a "B" picture, but amazingly there are some expensive effects (for the era and studio) in this movie. There is a truly interesting part at the very end when New Orleans appears to wash away when the levee breaks. Sadly prophetic. But just wait until you see how John Wayne saves the city!
