Annoying Orange
My grand kids and I thoroughly enjoyed these stories. The animations are imaginative and the dialogue is witty. Great buy.
It's Annoying! It's Orange! And It's Dove-approved! (No sour grapes allowed!)
I think one of the problems that the ever-evolving channel that the Cartoon Network has experienced is that, throughout its various programming `evolutions,' it's traveled further and further away from its original intentions: that being a network that, primarily, showed cartoons. You can debate it all you like, but cartoons - at their inception - were originally intended to tap into the child inside all of us. With shows like CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, the sometimes relatively adult storytelling in STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS, the delightfully witty VENTURE BROS., and even the highly satiric ROBOT CHICKEN, Cartoon Network has modified its format to bring in more adults, though arguably ones who still embrace their inner child.
So when a program like ANNOYING ORANGE comes along that's genuinely a throwback to something clearly much more kid-centric, it may not register as strongly with the network's current audience.
